The entire region has a centuries-long history of mining providing a huge volume of geoscientific data.

Growing demand for Saxon raw materials

Of particular interest are tin and tungsten deposits. Very promising in this respect is the area between Schwarzenberg and Ehrenfriedersdorf. The geology favoured the formation of ore deposits.

The project area has been split into several zones which are the subject matter of independent sub-projects.
